On January 28, 2010, we received the following information from Honeywell.

"Honeywell will be unable to provide e-mail alert messaging functionally for the VistaICM after January 31, 2010. We recognize that this may cause inconvenience and hope that you understand this this was done to minimize future product challenges. Unfortunately, Honeywell is forced to take this prompt action in light of recent concerns regarding our third-party supplier's ability to continue to provide long-term support of the VistaICM units and email messaging." In addition, Honeywell has informed us that effective January 18, 2010, they have determined to obsolete the VistaICM product.

The Honeywell (formerly Ademco) Internet Connection Module (ICM) for VISTA control panels is an exciting new device that provides easy and affordable remote control of your security system. Using a Web interface, the ICM allows you to control your security system from any PC or mobile device such as a laptop, PDA or cell phone. (Please note that the VistaICM will only work with addressable Vista control panels such as the Vista-10P, 15P, 20P series, 50P series and 250 series.)

Besides controlling your security system remotely, the Vista ICM offers e-mail notification by automatically sending e-mails to alert you to various events (e.g., a child disarming the security system upon returning home from school, or a liquor or gun cabinet being opened).

In addition, ICM technology enables you to view IP cameras via the Web. The device is also easily networked with other ICMs that control lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) functions. Controlling your thermostats remotely can help you reduce energy costs.

Installation of the Vista ICM is quick and easy because it has its own setup wizard. No installation software is required - just plug it in.
